Saskatchewan Sunset Beach Party

Last night, some friends and I went out to Cranberry Flats, which is 8km away from Saskatoon. It's a really beautiful spot and we had a campfire, listened to music, drank some beer, and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. It was a really lovely way to spend a Monday evening! When you arrive, you have to hike about 20 minutes through a foresty path. It's a lovely walk, and then finally you see the river. The beautiful, beautiful river. We arrived just as the sun was setting. I captured some photos with both my DSLR and my iPhone... The grainy ones are the iPhone photos!

It was a perfect night!

Shirt: Forever 21
Disco Pants: American Apparel
Necklace: Forever 21
Clutch: H&M
Shoes: Madden Girl
Lipstick: MAC Russian Red

I got this shirt online from Forever 21 today. I decided that since it's the Olympics, I needed to have something with the Union Jack on it. I just love the tiger coming out from it. I decided to pair the outfit with red lips and blue shoes for a pop of colour that matches the Union Jack.

I bought these shoes for my brother's wedding last month, and OH MY they are so hard to walk in. I try to make a point of wearing them every so often, so that I get used to them, and it's definitely getting better. It doesn't help that they're a size too big, but I have all sorts of Doctor Scholls pads in them to make them the right size. I'll never learn...

Ever since I made a big online Forever 21 purchase, I've been feeling more inspired to do outfit posts. Let's hope I keep this trend up!

Enjoy your Tuesday!

MAC Impassioned Review

MAC Impassioned Lipstick

Impassioned is another lipstick from the amplified collection from MAC. Along with Girl About Town, it's one of my favourites. It's a pretty loud colour, which I think is awesome. Although it has a nice, creamy base, I still use some chapstick before putting this one on, just because I find that you can really see the cracks in my lips with it otherwise. I would also recommend exfoliating your lips quite a bit before using it (I use sugar and olive oil).

I would be interested to see how I like this one when using some lipliner, so I might just head to my MAC counter one of these days to purchase a similar colour in liner. It tends to bleed just a teeny tiny bit.

One of my favourite colours! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a bright, loud pink.

Top: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Blazer: H&M
Jeans: Nudie
Shoes: Unknown
Lipstick: MAC Impassioned (review tomorrow!)

I recently got this shirt from Forever 21, and I just think it's so cute. It's a trapeze top, so I find it's best with pants and not skirts or anything of the like. I decided to pair it with my Nudie jeans because I don't wear them very often! Have you heard of Nudie? They're an incredible jean brand, and I spent waaay too much money on them, but they were worth every penny. I believe they're a Swedish brand. The jeans are made out of raw denim, so you're encouraged to wear them basically non-stop for 6 months before washing them. I'm lucky if I wear mine once a week, so I figure it will be a good 4 years before I wash mine. (kidding) They're supposed to wear down in all the right places, until they become like your second skin! Best. Jeans. Ever. I encourage all of you to look up their retailers and go try on a pair! The best part? They're even fair trade.

I got this blazer from H&M ages ago, and I desperately need a new one. It was very poorly made and every time I put it on there is something more that wears out in it. yeesh.

I hope everyone has been having a beautiful weekend! Thanks for reading.

MAC Girl About Town Review

MAC Girl About Town amplified lipstick

I am in absolute love with this lipstick. I find myself reaching for it more and more! It's a really really pigmented lipstick from the MAC amplified collection, and it is perfectly fuschia. It has a pretty creamy base, so I don't find it to be drying at all. It's such an intense colour.

Once I'm back in school, I can see myself using a brush with it instead of using it from the tube, just to get a more toned down look to it.

Definitely worth the money! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a berry kind of fuschia.

Top: Forever 21
Shorts: DIY (from American Eagle jeans)
Necklace: Forever 21
Shoes: Converse
Lipstick: MAC Girl About Town (review tomorrow)

I am in love with this top from Forever 21. It's perfectly weird. I think the pink in it makes the perfect pair for my favourite pair of DIY shorts. The necklace, was also shown in my last post... and you better believe it's going to be in my next few. It has quickly become my favourite, and I have been pairing it with everything!

I like how casual this outfit is... perfect for daytime weekend wear, when just hanging out and walking around town with friends.

This lipstick is one of my new favourite shades! Tomorrow I will have a review up about it.

Take care friends!

Shirt: ASOS
Skirt: American Apparel
Necklace: Forever 21
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Clutch: H&M

This was my work outfit yesterday... I bought this shirt months and months ago from ASOS and I never wore it because it is far too large. So I decided to tie it up and wear it with a high-waisted a-line skirt I got from American Apparel ages ago. I love the scallop detailing and the peter pan collar of the shirt.

I just got this necklace from Forever 21, and I am loving it. I feel so bad-ass. Especially when I pair it with these studded shoes! I bought them a few years ago, because I have always been a sucker for studs. I love the way they look with skinny jeans, a black top, and a leather jacket.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

MAC Viva Glam Nicki Minaj Review

This isn't really true to colour... brb while I learn how to photograph products better! haha

MAC Viva Glam Nicki Minaj
Messy hair
(why do I still have baby hairs around my hairline?! I hate them!)
Clothing will be shown in tomorrow's blog post!

I'm a sucker for all MAC lipsticks, after purchasing my second one way back in December, which you can see in this blog post. My first one was a cream sheen... Speed Dial to be exact! I still like it for every-day wear, but I really fell in love with MAC lipsticks when I purchased Russian Red. So now, every time I walk by the MAC counter, I always buy a lipstick. I'm up to 10 or so now, and I keep wanting to purchase more!

The Nicki Minaj is described as a yellow pink, and it is pretty light and bubble-gummy on my lips... I've seen it look hot pink on other lips and with other skin tones! While I absolutely adore the colour, I find it a little bit drying compared to the other Satin finishes I have tried. I really have to make sure to exfoliate and moisturize my lips prior to applying it. It's really really pigmented, which I LOVE. It's bold, it's bright, and it is oh-so beautiful!

I used to not wear a lot of lipstick, and I used to be too nervous to wear it for daytime... but now I am at the point where my face doesn't feel "ready" until I have applied lipstick. Addicted, for sure.

Have you tried the Nicki? What did you think?

My Weekend in Instagram Photos

Friday night my boyfriend and I had crab for supper because he has never had one before! I like mine best when doused in lemon. So yummy!

My 3.5 year old niece was visiting from Vancouver. I painted her toes with American Apparel rainbow glitter polish. She loved it!

Then my cousin, sister, grandma and I all decided we wanted some too. Three generations of rainbow glitter nails!

Sunset boat ride around the lake.

Late night cards with my parents. We decided to play crib.

My sister and I thought it would be funny to take one of those classic 'dad-is-driving-the-boat-but-we're-going-to-make-it-look-like-the-kid-is-driving' type photos. I was sooo excited.

Sitting on the edge of the dock with my toes in the water.

Had to wait on the highway for construction. God damn, I love Saskatchewan.

I learned how to wake surf!

Wake Surfing

So I tried wake surfing today which was amazing! Basically, you get up on the surfboard kind of like a wakeboard, then you manoeuvre with the rope until you find the "sweet spot" on the wake. Once you've got that, you toss in the rope and ride the wave like you're surfing. It's my new favourite sport!
