YOU KNOW WHERE I AM

 Dress: Romwe
Blazer: H&M
Leggings: American Apparel
Bag: Ebay
Shoes: Michael Kors

Well my family and I spent a really good day today in Galveston, Texas on the Gulf of Mexico. We ate some good seafood (some was pretty underwhelming, but that was just the restaurant choice!) but all in all it was a good day. We took a ferry ride and just looked around the city, and drank margaritas. mmmm I love Texas for its abundance of margaritas. Tomorrow morning we're heading to New Orleans and I couldn't be more excited! I've wanted to go there since I was a little girl (because I looooove cajun food and blues music!) and I'm so happy that now is my chance.

I can't believe I went frolicking in the Gulf today... they sure have cleaned it up since the spill!

I hope everyone is doing really well! Thank you so much for reading my blog - I really appreciate all the support! :)
My sister and I!

My mom and I went to tour the house and the garden at the Bayou Bend a couple days ago. It was really beautiful there and I took a ton of photos, which I'll be sure to post once I've sifted through all of them to find the gems! I'm having a really wonderful time in Houston so far - my family has eaten well, played lots of games (we're all becoming masters at darts!) and are just having a good time together. Tomorrow we're going to Galveston to eat some seafood (yikes, from the Gulf.. wish me luck please!) then Wednesday - Friday we're going to New Orleans. I'm incredibly excited for New Orleans - we managed to get a beautiful hotel right on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. I can tell that we will be having far too much fun there!

We had a good, laid-back Christmas. Games and food! We ate TURDUCKEN. It still blows my mind!

I hope everyone is having a really wonderful holiday so far! Thanks for reading! xo

This is my mom and I on Christmas eve - underneath the dart board we've come to love so much! I really can't get enough of the red lipstick... ;)

LE PRINTEMPS DES AMANTS

Skirt: La Vie Lente
Shirt: H&M
Shoes: Forever 21

Got these shoes on buy one get one free from Forever 21 a couple weeks ago... I also got a pair of Chelsea style boots (that are far too shiny!!! I need to distress them a bit!) and these fabulous bootie wedges that have rhinestones on the wedge. The skirt is from a boutique that recently opened here in Saskatoon. It was really reasonably priced... I think $28!

My exam yesterday didn't go too well! Oh well, it happens. I have my last one tomorrow then I'm free!!! I can't wait. Tuesday morning I'll be getting on a plane to Houston. I can't wait to see my brother, I haven't seen him since April!!! My parents got there yesterday, and my sister will arrive on Christmas eve. Yay for family holidays!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks you so much for reading. xo

LAND LOCKED BLUES

Cardigan: Costa Blanca
Dress: Tailor made in Zambia

Well what do ya know, I'm wearing another one of my Zambia customs again today! haha my tailors (who were three beautiful women!) did their best attempt at a sweetheart neckline on this one... it's more so a "v". haha not a great job on the neckline, but I'll survive and wear it anyway! This one was just as cheap as the others - I think about $12 total! I had to roll it up, because the length is almost to my knees!!!! I think I'm going to get it shortened, because I know I'll wear it a lot more if I do.

I've been begrudgingly studying the past couple days... I have my last two finals Saturday and Monday... then Tuesday I'm off to Houston! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

THE UNDISCOVERED FIRST

Dress (worn as shirt): H&M
Skirt: Tailor made in Zambia
Ring: ebay
Chelsea Boots: Forever 21
Nails: Gift box nails (tutorial Syl and Sam)

Another one of my custom-made in Zambia pieces today! This time a skirt I had made... I got the fabric for $4, and it cost $5 to have it made. A $9 skirt is a steal of a deal to me!

Tried red lipstick again today - this time I used Revlon In The Red on Janet's recommendation. I really like it!! It makes me feel so... vintage? I think maybe that's my hair style too though... haha

I'm going to finish a paper that's (gah!) so late right now, and then study for the rest of the day. I went to the gym this morning at 9am and was supposed to meet a friend, but she was unable to go... so I'll go again tonight at 8 with her. Time to get myself into shape!!!!

IT'S GONNA TAKE A LONG TIME

Blouse: Forever 21
Jeans: Gap
Cardigan: Costa Blanca
Necklace: Aldo
Ring: Ebay
Shoes: Unknown! From a great little boutique in Saskatoon

Ohhhh man... things got out of hand yesterday really fast. Have you guys ever been "iced"? It's when someone hides a Smirnoff Ice, and when someone finds it they have to get down on one knee and chug it? Ugh, well, my cousin/roommate left one on our toilet before he left the apartment for the day. WELL... I found it about an hour later. I was home alone, but I still did it. I play by the rules! So that was at like... 2pm. It made me lose all my concentration... then he invited me out for drinks and supper with a few people. I had a really good pizza! After that, we all went and bought a box of wine and a bottle of Baby Duck, had those, then went to the bar. Ha! Crazy night...

HOW I SPENT MY SATURDAY week 04

Photo from LLYMLRS
Ok, so this post is a little bit different! I was browsing through LLYMLRS' blog yesterday, and came across this outfit post, and thought: "hey, I can do something similar!" so for today's post I am copying her outfit! Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, right?

Tunic: ebay
Leggings: American Apparel
Fur collar: Costa Blanca
Rings: jwlry

So I was listening to Mayer Hawthorne while taking these photos and was totally dancing. Such upbeat music and I was loving every minute of it, lol. I think you can see that come across in some of the photos! I love spending my weekends dancing by myself in my bedroom. hehe

So this is my variation (which didn't deviate too far from the original) of LLYMLRS' outfit. Found this tunic ebay (thinking it would be a dress, but it barely covers my bum!) and I had to have it... I forget how much it cost, but it shipped from the UK and I don't think I paid very much... maybe around $30 in total. Not bad at all!

I'm going to study for a bit today, then tonight I'm going to a concert! A bunch of western Canadians are playing, and I'm sooo excited. They're all incredible musicians with a good folk feel to their music. I'm really looking forward to it!

Sorry for not being at all creative today, but I had fun doing it, and that's what matters, right?! haha

THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING

Cardgan: H&M
Blouse: Costa Blanca
Scarf: Forever 21
Ring: Ebay
Lip Liner: MAC Pro Longwear in Kiss Me Quick
Lip Colour: MAC Matte in Russian Red

Ok, so I've wanted a red lipstick for a long time now - and after watching numerous tutorials on YouTube of how to best wear it - to make it last, etc. I decided to go out and buy some! Let me tell you - I LOVE IT! I'm going to wear red all the time now, probably. haha well when the occasion permits, I guess. What do you guys think? Do you wear red lip colour?

I'm really happy with both MAC products I bought today... The liner goes on a lot smoother than most of the other ones I tried - and it doesn't make my incredibly dry lips go flaky, like most liners do since they are so dry... This one is really nice and smooth. Then the lip colour is a great matte colour - and I don't find it dries out my lips too much. Before I applied the liner (which I applied over my whole lip for longer wear!) I covered my lips in Carmex... winter makes my lips sooo dry! I've also been exfoliating them with olive oil and sugar every couple of days, to keep them good.

Let me know what you think about the red lips! Thanks for reading xo
